What is Civic Learning Week?

Civic Learning Week, March 9-13, 2026, is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting civic education and its importance in preparing people for their roles as informed and engaged participants in a constitutional democracy. Through student engagement, this event highlights and energizes the movement to prioritize civic education in our communities.

How can you get involved?

 

STEP 1: Check out events happening around the country.

• See what public and classroom events for CLW are going on by list or map view on this page: https://civiclearningweek.org/events/ 

 

STEP 2:  Join the conversation on Civic Learning.

• Attend the CLW National Forum in Philadelphia, PA on March 9-10

• Access CLW teaching resources: https://civiclearningweek.org/resources/ 

• Post your own public or classroom Civic Learning event on the Civic Learning Week website

• Share a Civic Learning resource for other educators on the CLW website

 

STEP 3: Act Locally.

• At the CCSS Conference: Visit our CCSS table in the exhibitor hall for CCSS-curated classroom resources at the Elementary, Middle, and High School level 

• In your classroom: Focus on civic learning during the week of March 9-13, 2026.

 

STEP 4: Share your events with CCSS.
